Melissa and Richard are just FUN to be around. From the moment I met them at their engagement session, they had me laughing nonstop, so I knew their wedding day would be full of excitement and joy. It didn’t disappoint! I was also super excited to shoot my first wedding at American Village in Montevallo. It’s modeled after a colonial village, and now serves as an educational institution. The ceremony was held in the colonial-style chapel, and the reception was in a big red barn close by. It all felt so classic and patriotic. :)
Despite the rain that came and went throughout the day, everyone was in high spirits. It was also the official first day of football season for Alabama AND Auburn fans, so there was an extra helping of celebration happening. Few things beat fall in the South, in my personal opinion. ;)
Let’s get on to the photos! Huge thanks to Mary Margaret Smith for second shooting… you’ll see some of her lovely shots below.
Big shout out to the fabulous Brittany Benton Massey for doing amazing hair and makeup for Melissa and ALL of her bridesmaids. This girl’s talent knows no bounds, and it’s always a delight to work with her!
My heart melted when Melissa and her dad saw each other for the first time.
Melissa, you’re STUNNING!
Right after the ceremony, we had a window of about 5 minutes of no rain to jump out of the golf cart for portraits of Melissa and Richard. So thankful for this time, because the light and the scenery were just absolute perfection, and these two make quite the couple, huh?
Aaaaand we got a rainbow out of it! :D
Congratulations you two! Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of such a fun day!
