Halie and Seth // Engagement in a Treehouse

So lately Jamie and I have been absolutely OBSESSED with watching Friday Night Lights (the TV series, not the movie) on Netflix, and I often wish that we were living in a town like Dillon, Texas and could somehow be neighbors with the Taylors and have them give us life advice on a regular basis. So when I drove up to Gallatin, Tennessee to shoot an engagement session for my cousin Halie and her fiancĂ© Seth, I couldn’t help but feel a little bit like I was in Dillon. I’ve been plenty of times to visit family (both sets of my grandparents also live there), but something about this particular trip just had me smiling nonstop. For one, we began shooting at Seth’s house, which was originally owned by his grandparents. Right next door on the same piece of land, Seth’s sister Chelsea and her husband purchased the other house. You have to know also that Halie and Chelsea have been best friends since they were little, so if that isn’t something out of a TV sitcom, I don’t know what is. :) They’re even planning to alternate cooking dinner at each other’s houses once Halie moves in after the wedding. ADORABLE! We also shot a lot in the backyard, where there is a pretty little creek and a treehouse, which is where Seth proposed last summer. While we were crossing the side street to get to a field, Seth’s high school coach drove by in his truck and they had a conversation with a lot of “yes sirs” involved… How much do you love small town life?!

Anyway, I’m just so happy for my cousin that she’s about to get married to someone who clearly adores her so much, and that they have such a sweet story. Don’t believe me? Then check out this photo of them from way back in the day, when Halie was just Seth’s little sister’s best friend:

We then drove into downtown Nashville to the Old Spaghetti Factory, where Halie and Seth went on their first date before seeing John Mayer. If you’ve never been…. find an excuse to go! And get the mizithra pasta… DELISH.

And finally, on the way back to the car, we stopped for a few quick photos in front of LP Field, home of the Tennessee Titans. Seth’s kiiiind of obsessed, so it seemed only fitting. :)
