The Flannery Family

You’ve probably noticed a lack of family sessions on the blog this year, but it’s not because I haven’t been shooting them! It’s just that with such a busy wedding season, it’s been difficult to find time to squeeze everything in, but I’m hoping to blog some past sessions in the not-too-distant future. I couldn’t resist sharing this one, though, because it’s my cousin Ellen’s sweet little family. (They’ve made an appearance once or twice before. ;) ) We squeezed in a shoot during their whirlwind visit to the South from their current home in Pasadena, California, and it was so great to spend some time with them and see how much Caroline, Harris, and Ellen’s belly (which is housing their newest addition, a baby girl!) have grown since last year.

I feel like this is also a great session to share to showcase how I approach shooting the little ones, which is very similar to my shooting style on wedding days. Yes, I will definitely make sure to get some nice smiling-at-the-camera shots (everyone loves to frame those!), but a lot of our time together will be spent with me just following you around, documenting your silliness, your snuggles, those tiny little glimpses into your family’s everyday life. No family is perfect, and that’s what makes each one of them interesting and special. And the imperfections? Well, those are kind of my favorite, and more often than not, they end up being the client’s favorite too. :) So if this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please get in touch and let’s get a session scheduled!

The way it goes with siblings: one minute, you’re loving each other like crazy….

…. And the next, you’re wishing you could just get some peace and quiet while you’re laying in the grass. ;)
