It was 30 minutes before the ceremony, and everyone was panicking. Who could have predicted that it would be 50 degrees and raining on a Saturday in mid-May…. in Tennessee?! Certainly not me. Candace had painstakingly planned a gorgeous wedding on the lawn of the Hazelpath Mansion, and we were faced with the possibility of throwing together a Plan B ceremony in the entryway of the house. Prayers were said, ideas were thrown around, and then, at the last minute, a decision was made- all the guests who were there to love and support Candace and Trey would brave a little bit of chilly weather to make sure that Candace’s dream of an outdoor wedding could come true. I was so floored by the good attitudes of everyone involved, and it was truly a testament to how much they love this couple. When it was all said and done, despite every curveball thrown their way, the day was beautiful and special, and no amount of rain could spoil a night full of eating, drinking, dancing, and celebration. (In fact, it could be argued that the brisk air blowing through the tent was preferable to the typical stuffy, humid Southern heat we usually have this time of year.)
I started the day at the hotel where Candace was with her mom and grandmother and they were getting their hair and makeup done. The mood in the air was so calm and peaceful. They had opted not to have a bridal party, so it felt really intimate with it just being family together, and I could tell that any more people in the room would’ve completely stressed Candace out. But no stress here!
I love Candace’s reaction to seeing her hair done for the first time!
We then headed to Hazelpath to put the finishing touches on everything…
A getting ready room with high ceilings, huge windows, white walls, wood floors, and minimal decorations is a photographer’s dream come true. :)
How flipping stunning is Candace?!
Everyone knows I love me a good First Look. ;)
Trey and his mom. So, so sweet.
They were sneaking peeks at the guests arriving from inside. :)
Love this shot that Jamie captured.
I think the decision to keep the ceremony outdoors was totally worth it.
I’m fairly certain that there hasn’t yet been a father-daughter dance during which I haven’t cried.
My mama and my Pop dancing!
So much fun dancing.
… Even Nana was having a blast!
Hope you guys enjoyed this sneak peek! Thank you so much for inviting me to play such an important role in your big day. I hope it was everything you dreamed it to be! Love you guys!

Love these, Morgan! I bet you were dying over the teal shoes. My favorites (I’m obsessed with telling everyone my favorites as if it matters for the order of the universe): the prayer (composition, digging it), the cake shot with the birds, even more the lighting on the strawberries in the next one, and the one of Candace and Trey dancing with the stream of light.
Your detail shots are so killer. What an awesome couple and gorgeous venue. Once again, I bow down…
I feel like very time a post a comment it’s always the same…….”these pictures are amazing”!!! I guess that’s because your work IS amazing. What a beautiful wedding. Candace was such a gorgeous bride. Trey and Candace’s love for each other was so evident in the way they simply look at each other. So much fun. Love ya, Mom
i literally ooh’d and ahh’d over these pictures! BEAUTIFUL reception!
