Erika and Drew are the ultimate high school sweethearts, and I’m not going to lie, I love that about them. My husband Jamie and I always joke that if we had met even a year or two earlier, while we were still in high school, we probably never would’ve started dating (I was the nerd, he was the athlete, and as stereotypes go we didn’t stand a chance ;) ), but watching the slideshow of photos of these two during the reception, it was so cool seeing them experiencing their “growing up” years together. And you could tell throughout the entire wedding that this has been a long-anticipated event, and I think everyone was just so happy that it’s finally official.
This wedding day was just an all-around fun one to be at, too. Everyone was having such a good time just hanging out together all day, which is how wedding days SHOULD be. I also love a good rowdy group of groomsmen, and they set the bar pretty high for guys everywhere when they surprised Erika with a choreographed dance to “Call Me Maybe.” (Keep scrolling to see the video further down!) It was hands down one of my favorite wedding day memories ever. And to top it all off, Erika’s impeccable taste and classic style, mixed with the natural beauty of Hunter Valley Farm, made all the details so much fun to photograph!
And speaking of, let’s get to some of those photos, shall we? Huge thanks to my wonderful second shooter Sarah Musgrave for all her help, and for capturing some of the goodness you’ll see below!
Erika told me before the wedding that she’s known for her mad bedazzling skills. She wasn’t kidding! I saw bedazzled things all over her parents’ house while they were getting ready. :) So naturally I had to pay homage to her love for sparkles with the ultimate bling.
I loved Erika’s sweet and simple bridal style. To see more of it, check out the gorgeous bridal session we did back in the spring.
Told you this was a fun group of guys. ;)
Loved this darling little dresser they used as a guest sign-in space.
I’m starting to think it’s more common for guests to be looking at the groom for his reaction to the bride than at the bride herself. :) And understandably so, because keep scrolling for Drew’s reaction…
Drew made Erika giggle when she went to put his ring on by leaving her a little message on his finger. He had injured it recently and Erika was worried the ring wouldn’t fit at all, but luckily- with a little bit of wiggling- it did. Adorable!
These two are just beyond cute.
One of my favorite details of the day was the Marble Slab ice cream bar they had at the reception. GENIUS! It was a huge hit. :)
Remember the groomsmen dance I mentioned? Well, you’re in for a treat. Check out the video below!
“No photos, please!”
Congratulations Drew and Erika! Thank you so much for allowing us to be apart of your day!
