Adventures in Palm Springs

When I was first contacted by Erin last summer, I could hardly believe my luck when she said she wanted to fly me out to Palm Springs for her wedding. I have literally been dreaming of going there for several years, because I know it’s a must-see for any lover of mid-century design, California cool style, and bold colors. So I booked a room at the ultra-hip Ace Hotel for the long weekend, asked my friend Sam (also a lover of all things mid-century) to join me, and we boarded a plane to visit what I now know is one of my absolute favorite places I’ve ever been.

If you threw the hospitality, charm, food, and front porch culture of the South in a blender with the eclectic, colorful style of Palm Springs, you’d end up with something like my dream place to live. Unfortunately, we don’t have many places in Alabama that look quite like this, so I think I’ll just have to settle for looking to California for stylistic inspiration and infuse it into my daily life however I can. ;)

Huge thank you to Erin and Steven for giving us the opportunity for such an amazing work-cation. Enjoy this tiny little glimpse into our trip to Palm Springs, and come back tomorrow to see the actual wedding (and it is a DO-NOT-MISS!).

As I mentioned yesterday, we both are head over heels in love with mid-century design and color, so not only was simply [...]
