One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to meet so many awesome people, who are all so different in their own ways. And then I get to CAPTURE what makes their love unique to them. I mean, one weekend I’m photographing a bride in a Taylor Swift-approved sparkly dress, and the next I’m photographing a bride-to-be in an Opeth T-shirt and Converse. I don’t know if it gets much more diverse than that! So today, in honor of it being Halloween and all, I’m sharing Jillian and Tim’s engagement session, which we shot in Old Gray Cemetery in North Knoxville last week.
These two met in a class at the University of Tennessee several years back, and after a first date to a TOOL concert, the rest was history. They also recently celebrated their 30th birthdays at an Opeth concert, so needless to say, music has played an important role in their story. That’s why I LOVE that they showed up in black band T-shirts for the first part of their engagement session. It couldn’t have been more perfect for a cloudy gray day at the cemetery, where the East Tennessee fall leaves were in full force.
Enjoy!
I love, love, love when couples make each other laugh.
Most couples find it a bit awkward to be affectionate toward each other as someone has a big camera in their faces, but Tim was all about it. He just jumped right in and started loving on Jillian as if I wasn’t there at all. I love that.
So, so pretty. I love a girl in glasses. :)
Jillian and Tim, thanks so much for a fun, laid-back, and perfectly offbeat engagement session! Can’t wait to shoot your wedding this spring!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!!! You captured so much of what makes us such a unique couple.
