I was so happy when Jillian and Tim told me they were planning a relaxing, intimate wedding in the Smoky Mountains on a Thursday. When we met up for their engagement session back in October, they said that they’re not big dancing people, so they wanted their reception to feel more like a backyard party, with BBQ and Moon Pies and cornhole games and good conversation. They had lots of friends and family coming from out of town, so it felt more like a group vacation, with guests mingling and just hanging out and celebrating Jillian and Tim’s relationship. I always love when couples choose to have a wedding that completely reflects who they are, and these two didn’t disappoint… all the way down to the Opeth songs they played during the reception. :)
The venue they chose is so secluded that it LITERALLY is not on the map, which made for an interesting adventure driving there, but also was so awesome once you got up the mountain and saw the incredible views of the Smoky Mountains. It was so peaceful and quiet, and the weather was just gorgeous…. so basically, it was a photographer’s dream. And Jillian and Tim are just two of the most down-to-earth people you could meet, and they so obviously adore each other that it’s hard to take a bad photo of them together. :)
Huge thanks to Allison of Live Laugh Love Weddings for all her help in coordinating the day, Samuel Franklin for the absolutely stunning florals, Dead End BBQ for the delicious food, and my fab second shooter Sarah Musgrave for making it all that much more fun.
Enjoy!
Such a sweet first look.
Tim’s parents’ golden retriever Goldie was a special guest at the wedding. What a sweet pup!
I love when I can sneak a couple away from their reception for just a few more portraits. They always end up being some of my favorites of the day. I’m also slightly obsessed with dusk light. :)
Congratulations Jillian and Tim! Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your oh-so-sweet celebration!
Kelly Cummings - What a sweet wedding. Oh how I love the mountains and moonpies! I love cupcakes and all that green too, but those don’t start with M’s. The raised hand ceremony shot = my fave.
Jillian & Tim - Morgan, we just sat down and looked at the photos together. They are absolutely amazing!!! We just love them all! You truly captured the essence of our venue, our wedding and us!! Thank you so so much!
