You can’t help but laugh when you’re hanging out with Joshua and Allie. I remember many an opening shift I worked at Starbucks back in Knoxville with Joshua, and even at 5:00 am, he managed to make me crack up with his faces and his commentary about customers in the drive-thru. And when he laughs, everyone laughs. You just can’t help yourself! When I eventually met Allie and saw how they interacted with each other, I knew they were an absolutely perfect match. They love tradition and sentiment, but they also have amazing deadpan jokes they’ll drop on you out of nowhere. It’s awesome. They’ve been planning this wedding for a looong time, and I know they were so relieved and excited to see it finally come together and happen. (I can’t believe it’s already been over a year since the engagement shoot we did at the Biltmore!)
I think this makes the fifth wedding I’ve shot for a Starbucks partner (previous ones include Carrie and Shane, Lauren, Crystal, and Emory and Eric and I might have another in the works this fall ;) ) and it definitely was, as always, a great experience. Having known these two for so long made their wedding fun, and having our mutual friend Sarah come along with me to second shoot made it even better. We drove into Asheville from Knoxville early Friday morning and met up with Allie and her mom at Adorn Salon downtown. I can’t tell you how cute downtown Asheville is… if you haven’t been, and especially if you live anywhere in the South, you must go! It’s a great spot for a bed-and-breakfast weekend getaway. Oh, and don’t be surprised if you stumble into a drum circle or two. ;)
Let’s just talk about how awesome Sarah is. She took this, one of my favorite ring shots ever, while we were at Adorn. Yeah, she rocks.
We then headed over to the Biltmore Forest Country Club, where the wedding was to take place. The day started off pretty cloudy and dreary, but you wouldn’t believe how beautiful it was by the time the ceremony rolled around. You’ll see photographic proof a little bit lower. :)
Sarah also took this one, and I LOVE it. My personal philosophy is that you can never have too much downtime on a wedding day.
One of the sweetest first looks ever.
Allie, you’re gorgeous!
I would be doing everyone a disservice by not including the silly pictures. :)
Is that a tear welling up in your eye, Joshua?
The shot below sums up why I do what I do.
A family friend lent them a Jaguar to drive away in. Ummm… nice!
Congratulations Allie and Joshua! Hope you guys enjoyed this sneak peek… your wedding was a blast to be a part of!
And now for a little behind the scenes… Here I made Sarah be my light testing subject. She’s really good at it, obvs.
And I couldn’t resist a self-portrait. I mean, who doesn’t want to remember what their wedding photographer looked like? ;)

I love the self portrait and caption! These are full of feeling, love them!
i seriously teared up, awesome shoot, adorable couple :]
This looks like SUCH a fun wedding to shoot! And I love hearing your advice to take a trip to Asheville because that B&B thing? TOTALLY happening for me and my mama this July! (a month when I know we’ll be sweating it out but the only time I could make it happen!)
SO many fun, sweet, and beautiful moments in this wedding! You’re #winning wedding photography, Morgan. By a long shot… whew…
I was heartbroken I was unable to attend my niece Allie’s wedding but your beautiful pictures are the next best thing to being there in person. They are truly wonderful and warm my heart. You did a fantastic job!!
Morgan, you captured Allie and Joshua PERFECTLY. So much beautiful work. I am constantly amazed at the quantity of perfect and gorgeous shots you get. You’re amazingly talented. Someday, I am going to have an opportunity to hire you for a special occasion, I just know it. I have no idea what or when that will be, but it will happen! Miss you!
Love,
Amy
This wedding made me smile from the first to the last photo. I love how you captured the beauty and fun-loving nature of this couple! And the family of ducks making an appearance at just the right time was icing on the cake!
