Brittany and Matthew are just… adorable. Seriously. From the moment we began chatting back and forth about me shooting their wedding, they’ve been nothing but excited, enthusiastic, laid back, and oh-so-sweet… just the way I like my brides and grooms. ;) Even when they made the decision to move their wedding up from this coming December to last weekend, they handled the craziness like pros and didn’t miss a beat.
Their wedding was a nice change of pace for me because they had one of those rarer(ish?) morning ceremonies followed by a lunch reception. I gotta say, it was a relief not having to worry about losing any light for photos, and there’s also something so serene about being with the bride as she gets ready super early in the morning, and there’s this moment of calm before the chaos hits. That’s exactly how I found Brittany and her family the morning of the wedding:
Here, Brittany’s brother had just told their mom that she wasn’t allowed to start crying on him yet. :)
Then we headed over to the church, where my ever-amazing second shooter Sarah grabbed the next three detail shots (and I am in love with all of them).
Matthew was so giddy, and only a little nauseous. :)
Is Brittany a stunning bride or WHAT?
On the way to the reception, we stopped at a spot that Matthew had scouted out for us to do their portraits (um, love that!). The area we were in is sooometimes a little sketchy, so we kind of freaked out when this man sporting an NRA hat and a pistol approached us. Turns out he operates the car wash across the street, and he came over to tell us that just that morning, he had been pondering the fact that he had witnessed just about every strange scenario you can imagine at his car wash, except a wedding. (He may have been elaborating on that last part. Who the heck knows.) So he felt he needed to come over and say hello to the bride and groom who had fulfilled his dreams, and I insisted that we take a photo of them together. Oh, Tennessee… I love you.
Favorite! So happy, so colorful, so much love. Pretty much sums up my photographic mission. :)
Also…. get a load of this dude. Have I mentioned how much I love adventurous couples?
We then headed to the country club for lunch. This next image is one that Sarah took, and immediately after ran inside to show me, and said that if this doesn’t capture the country club vibe, what would? I happen to whole-heartedly agree.
Matthew planned the honeymoon in secret, so at the end of the reception he surprised Brittany with bride and groom Mickey Mouse ears to tell her they were headed to Disneyworld. After seeing the last Harry Potter movie last weekend and suffering from withdrawals, I am supremely jealous of the fact that they get to hang out at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. :)
Remember from their engagement session how much they love TOMS shoes?
Congratulations Brittany and Matthew! I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek, and say hi to Mickey for me!

Holy cow, this wedding is unreal! And srsly, Mo?! You shot it on Saturday and blogged it today?! You are a champion of photography! Jealous of you and your amazing couples… Gooooooorgeous. :)

OH MY GOSH MORGAN! These are absolutely the most amazing pictures I have ever seen! You captured our day perfectly! I feel that I should tell you that Matthew and I got the notifications that you had tagged pictures on facebook and we immediately left our resort and drove to the nearest Starbucks (fitting isn’t it?) to see them! Can’t wait to see the rest! LOVE THEM! :)
