A few weeks ago, I hopped in the car with my friend Kelly and headed down to Mobile with her to second shoot a fabulously, quintessentially Southern wedding. I’m not exaggerating. From the chicken salad croissants and Moon Pies that Allison and her family and bridesmaids shared with us for lunch in the hotel room to the gorgeous sprawling plantation with weeping willows to the classic color palette of navy and cream to the buffet dinner of shrimp and grits to the Roll Tide Roll version of “Sweet Home Alabama” to the Krispy Kreme donuts delivered at the end of the night… Yeah, it was pretty perfect! Allison and Jonathan were incredibly sweet, and it was definitely an honor to be there at Kelly’s side to photograph their big day. Be sure to go to Kelly’s blog to read her post, and to get all the details about vendors and such, but for now, here’s what I saw through my lens. Enjoy!
I had never been to Mobile before, and I have to admit that it was nothing like I expected. It very much felt like a mix of Charleston’s naval, beachy feel and New Orleans’s French historic character. In fact, Mardi Gras actually originated in Mobile. Who’d've guessed?
You better believe my heart skipped a beat when Allison pulled out a Kate Spade shoebox…
One of my favorite moments of the day: Jonathan dancing with all his grandmothers. It was so cute and hilarious, and I might have gotten a little choked up watching the moment unfold. :)
Nothing like a little restroom self-portrait to end the evening.
Big thanks to Kelly for inviting me along, and to Allison and Jonathan and all of their guests for making us feel so welcome. I had a blast!

You make me miss the South. I thought that was impossible…
The photo of the bride and the baby in the window is priceless! Great capture!
