Before I left Salt Lake City, I second shot a wedding with my good friends Mike and Sam. It was my 4th in 8 days, and our 3rd shooting together in that same time span, so it was awesome to see how far we’ve come in the way we do things. I told them that when I was going through sorting and editing Jenna and Addison’s wedding, I honestly couldn’t tell who shot what in a lot of the shots, we’ve gotten so in sync (*nsync!). As I type this, I’m sitting at Mike and Sam’s house back in Utah, and we’re getting ready to leave to shoot another wedding today in Tooele. I’m so happy I got to fly back and that they were able to shoot with me. Shoot team assemble, as Mike likes to say!
So back to Cat and Nathan’s wedding. First of all, I have to give them major props. They planned this whole thing in 3 weeks. For reals. Cat’s twin brother was going to be deployed, and they wanted him to be a part of everything, so they basically went into overdrive and got it done. I’m so impressed! Of course, they had lots of help from family and friends. Cat’s friend Molly offered her grandmother’s backyard for the ceremony and reception, as well as Molly’s own house for all the girls to get ready in. The cake was made by her sister, all the food was homemade, the chairs and tables were loaned to them… and she scored her dress for $60!
I loved how it was so apparent that everyone just came together to make this happen. Everything was very intimate and so much fun. So without further ado, the images! (Also, be sure to check out Mike and Sam’s post about the day!)
This is so very Utah to me. I love it!
Cat is one gorgeous lady to begin with, but it was also pretty awesome that she had a whole hair and makeup team made up of all her friends from the salon where she works. Another score!
Cat’s eyes are stunningly blue.
Mike and Sam convinced Cat and Nathan to do a First Look, and honestly, I couldn’t possibly recommend this more to brides and grooms. These are the kinds of things we just can’t capture during the ceremony.
We found all sorts of treasures at Molly’s grandmother’s house. i.e. this random rocket bomb thing.
They decided to have a very sweet moment of worship during the ceremony. What a way to start a marriage!
And this is what we call bribery. Sometimes a necessity when photographing lots of small children. :)
Awww, Cat and her brother Michael. Just love this.
The yellow chairs? Another of Grandma’s treasures!
Congratulations Cat and Nathan! And thanks again to Mike and Sam for inviting me along! :)

Wow three weeks? That must be a record! Gorgeous images Morgan! Looks like it turned out fabulous! :)
