Krista + Nathan // An Easy Breezy Palm Beach Wedding

I first had the pleasure of meeting Dickie, the planner extraordinaire behind Just a Little Ditty out of Charlottesville, Virginia, about a year and a half ago when we worked together on Heather and Franklin’s wedding. Since then, she and her incredible sidekick Maureen have referred me for other amazing weddings, which has been such an honor, because not only do I love their work, but I also love working with them, which really does make a world of difference! So when Dickie emailed me and asked if I’d be interested in traveling down to Palm Beach, Florida to photograph Krista and Nathan’s wedding, I couldn’t type YES quickly enough.

And oh my goodness, SO glad I did. This was a beach wedding done oh-so-right, from the colorful shell and succulent aisle runners, to the bare feet, to the khakis paired with blue suit jackets, to the sounds of the steel drum wafting through the air as guests sipped tropical cocktails with their toes in the sand… it was just perfection. And the cherry on top was most definitely Krista and Nathan themselves. Their kind, generous, and hospitable spirits, their sense of fun and lightheartedness, their amazing families who welcomed us right in as one of their own. I just can’t say enough good things.

My friend Taylor joined me on this trip, and we had an absolute blast together. It was the first time in Palm Beach for both of us, so we explored Worth Avenue and pretended to be fancy, drank a LOT of Starbucks, and attempted to sneak in some beach time which really just resulted in crazy amounts of wind. I’m thankful she was along for the adventure and that she captured some of the magic you’ll see here. Enjoy some favorites!

I mean… these two are kind of ridiculously perfect, right?

Huge thanks to Krista and Nathan for the honor of capturing your day! And congratulations again!

Sarah + Ethan // A Colorful Atlanta Art Museum Wedding

Oh, this wedding. It was a good one. We’re coming up on Sarah and Ethan’s first anniversary, and it sure was fun to go back through and relive this day. Perfect spring weather, laid back vibes, color GALORE (Sarah and I sooo speak each other’s language), the best music playlists, delicious burgers and made to order milkshakes (the Earl “Gray” in honor of their new last name was my personal favorite). In love with the whole thing start to finish. Enjoy some of my favorites! (Special thanks and shout out to my friend Mary Margaret Smith for assisting and capturing some of the shots you’ll see below!)

Ok, so the next series requires a little bit of storytelling. Remember how I said these two have ridiculously good taste in music? (i.e., it’s pretty much identical to my own musical taste, so therefore it’s obviously best. ;)) Right after their first look, Ethan pulled out his iPhone and gave Sarah a set of earbuds to put in. She had no idea what she was listening to, but you can see as the photos progress that she is realizing that this song was written especially for her. Ethan commissioned Matt Pryor (of the Get Up Kids and the New Amsterdams fame) to write and record the song. Um, yeah. Best wedding present ever! And her reaction? Priceless.

Happy almost-anniversary you two! It was a joy and honor to capture your big day. :)
