When I first met Rikesha and Endayshwa, I just could NOT get over how adorable they are together. Even though they have their differences (she’s VERY conservative and he’s VERY liberal, she’s a born and bred Southerner and he’s from Chicago), they have fully embraced the whole “opposites attract” philosophy, and you can tell that they truly do balance each other out and bring out the best in each other. In fact, Rikesha told me that before they began dating, she constantly felt high-strung and stressed out, and the least little thing could bring on a meltdown, but since she began dating Day, she feels like a much more mellow, happy, stress-free person. How awesome is that?
When we chatted about their engagement session, they wanted something indoors and kind of funky, so the lobby of the Aloft Hotel in downtown Homewood was absolutely perfect, with all its bright colors and modern decor. And these two brought it as soon as we started shooting, so it was definitely a fun afternoon for all of us.
