Baby Quinn

Not gonna lie… Newborn sessions make me a little nervous. There are so many incredible newborn photographers out there (and have you SEEN all the props that exist these days?!), so it’s intimidating to approach these sessions with my own eye and style, and also to face all of the unexpected challenges that can come with shooting days-old babies who are on pretty tight eating and sleeping schedules.

But all my nerves vanished the moment I held little Quinn in my arms. Her mama, Hope, was a little frantic because up to this day, Quinn had been sleeping soundly through the mornings and we were planning on working with her being fast asleep. But it ended up being amazing, because Quinn stayed wide awake, alert, animated, and perfectly content for a solid hour after I first arrived. I’ve never seen an eight-day-old be so patient and cooperative! I was picking her up and moving her around every 5 or 10 minutes, and she just let me do whatever I wanted without making a peep. And can we just talk about that delicious newborn smell, and the feel of their buttery soft skin? I seriously just wanted to eat her up. Or steal her. Either way.

Um, how adorable is her nursery? Hope is quite the decorator. :)

… Also I’m fairly certain she’ll be the best dressed baby in town.
