Kelly + Ross // A Sweet Southern Wedding at the Donnelly House

When I posted a sneak peek of Kelly and Ross’s wedding on Facebook, I said that even though it’s probably one of the most overused words ever, “sweet” was the most fitting term I could think of to describe their day. Everything about it, start to finish, was just laid back, low key, and brimming with a soft-spoken kind of joy and love. From the lovely shades of soft peach and pink, to the way Kelly’s dress hugged her teeny little frame perfectly, to the romantic backdrop of the historic Donnelly House, every detail worked together to create a perfectly sweet day. So I shouldn’t have been surprised when Kelly and Ross topped it all off by waltzing around to the Beatles’ “When I’m 64” for their first dance. *happy sigh*

You may remember from their engagement session that these two live in an adorable apartment in the historic Highlands district. It’s actually right across the street from the Donnelly House, so we were able to walk back and forth while the girls got ready in the apartment. How convenient is that! They’ve since moved to Atlanta for a job opportunity, but I know they’ll always have such amazing memories attached to this one little block of Birmingham.

Huge thanks to the always amazing Mary Margaret Smith for second shooting, and to Elizabeth Bacon (of EB Photography) who is interning with me this fall and came along to assist. I had such a great time with these ladies, and you’ll see some of their lovely shots throughout this post.

Enjoy!

I want to marry this dress.

Um, stop. You two are entirely too good-looking.

The way to my heart? Four words: KRISPY KREME GROOM’S “CAKE.”

Love these shots Elizabeth captured of Kelly hugging her dad and the flower girl nuzzling this precious baby’s head.

Congratulations Kelly and Ross! Best of luck with your next chapter together in Atlanta! :)
