When I met first met Chris and Kayla at their engagement session back in the spring, I immediately loved how fun their personalities were, so I had a feeling that their wedding would be super enjoyable. It’s no secret that they love to have a good time, and their wedding was definitely a reflection of that. The dance floor was absolutely PACKED from start to finish, and they literally had to bribe people out the door with Krispy Kreme donuts to get them to leave. ;)
I don’t think there’s any doubt in anyone’s mind that these two also absolutely ADORE each other. Chris is constantly checking in with Kayla to make sure she’s doing okay, and seeing if she needs anything, and just generally being oh-so-gentlemanly. And watching them both get choked up when they prayed together before the ceremony was such a special moment. Things like that remind you of what’s really important on a wedding day, and they’ve most certainly got their priorities straight.

This may be one of my favorite bridal portraits ever. Goodness. I know I’m a little biased, but I adore Kayla’s freckles.
One of the funniest moments of the day: Kayla was asking the minister if they would be able to do a specific shot, and he laughed and said, “I can NOT say no to this girl!” Then the ever-fabulous florist and planner Michael Doyle, who was carrying her train, responded with, “ME NEITHER!” It was too cute.
Also a great moment: there was some fumbling with the candles and a little wax spilling during the candle lighting part of the ceremony. That got a good chuckle out of the audience. :)
Let’s talk about how Riley is the cutest ring bearer in the history of ring bearers. I don’t like playing favorites from wedding to wedding, but this kid? I wanted to package him up and take him home with me. It was his birthday on the wedding day and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him at the reception… so stick around for that photo. ;)

This reception was STUNNING. Holy cow. I loved how glamorous and polished everything felt. And the Cadre Building is to DIE for. Again I have to sing the praises of Michael Doyle and his team!
It’s kind of awesome that this is how I get to spend my Saturday nights. :)
