When Holly suggested that we do her and Andy’s engagement session at the state fair this summer, I was all, say no more. Done deal. Yes please. Sign me up!
Holly and I got on Pinterest around the same time a few months ago, and I remember repeatedly thinking how we could not possibly have more similar taste in clothes, culture, and just stuff in general, so of course I’ve been anxiously awaiting this session AND their wedding day, which is coming up in a little over a month. (Can’t believe it’s so soon!) I expected that since they picked the fair for their location that we’d have a lot of fun together, but I wasn’t expecting to laugh quite so much. I think there’s something about the fair that brings out the kid in you, and we excitedly bounced from ride to ride as if we weren’t even there to take pictures. And speaking of- shooting while riding (and turned around backward at that!) was a completely new experience for me, but fortunately I managed not to puke once. Quite the feat considering I’ve had to clutch my stomach and close my eyes on more than one occasion due to thinking that for once I wouldn’t feel ill from trying to read a magazine in the car. I mean, I know that adrenaline is pretty darn powerful, but I had no idea it could prevent motion sickness. ;)
But enough about me and my terribly weak stomach. Holly and Andy are such an adorable couple, and I had a blast shooting them. I hadn’t met Andy before this session, but I knew I would like him when he told me the story of how they got together:
Holly came into Target one late night to visit a mutual friend and asked me out, but I totally stumbled and said no. A couple days later, I spoke with our mutual friend and found out she was working at The Tavern on the Summit, where I attempted twice to casually run into her (whoa, what an expensive shot at a chance- I later learned that she was on vacation at the time with her family). After that failed, I saw her again at Target and asked her out over the coffee bar at Starbucks.
Awww….
Angela Leisure - Seriously, chica? Can you get any more awesome?
Angela Leisure - Was that English? Can you BE more awesome? You get my point :D
Sarah - So amazing! I have always wanted to shoot at a fair! I love how in most pictures it looks deserted! So so cool :)
Holly - Morgan, these are awesome, I love them! Thank you so much! :) I keep looking at them over and over
Andy - These are great!
Hyla - Geez the fair there looks soo tame! We dont go to the fair here, it is sidewalk to sidewalk crowded and we would be afraid of losing one of the four kids! It looks empty!
The shots are wonderful and sooo colorful, and oddly peaceful and relaxing for the location!

Rachel - These are FABULOUS! You are a committed photographer to actually get on a ride and still be shooting! I LOVE that swing shot! Holly and Andy’s love just comes shining through every image. And the COLORS! So beautiful. What a wonderful evening and a lovely way to celebrate an engagement and the joy that they have in each other! These are a gift! Man, their kids are going to be so jealous that they were having that much fun before they were born and without them. LOL!
