Sorry to keep you waiting on the edges of your seats for this one, dear readers. I made big promises after posting Lane and Susan’s rehearsal dinner, and I hope it will have been worth a bit of a wait to see the images of their fantastic and gorgeous wedding. :) I finished these last week, and it honestly STILL makes me smile and get all giddy to scroll through them. I just adored this wedding, and I think it was absolutely a reflection of who Lane and Susan are as a couple. Keywords: artsy, authentic, quirky, relaxed, emotional, and, above all, FUN. I feel like you’ve gotten to know them pretty well by now, though, so I’m just gonna jump right on into the photos. HUGE thank you and shout out to my awesome friends and second shooters Mike and Sam of Kanzler Foto! I couldn’t have done it without you guys! Love you both. :) [Also, if you are interested in purchasing prints from the wedding or from the rehearsal dinner, click here to go to my online gallery where you can place your order. It will give you all sorts of options for styles and sizes!]
For those who are interested, here’s a list of the vendors used for this wedding:
Catering, cake, and rentals: Culinary Crafts

Bridesmaid Dress: Anthropologie

Save the dates, invitations, garlands, boutonnieres, table numbers, buttons: ALL handmade and sewn by Lane and Susan! Susan will soon be opening her own Etsy shop to showcase and sell her mad illustration and crafting skills, so check it out if you’re in the market for some custom work. She’s VERY talented!

Milk glass vases: purchased via Etsy, swap meets and thrift stores

First up: Susan’s gorgeous dress and her super creative Royal Tenenbaums-inspired save the dates.
One word comes to mind: “dahhhhhling!”
I love these detail shots Mike & Sam grabbed while hanging out with the boys getting ready.
One of the sweetest “first look” moments I’ve ever seen.
Toooons of incredible details. Couldn’t resist posting a lot!
Did Susan look so gorgeous and serene or WHAT? (Great job on hair & makeup, Mychal!)
Susan and Lane definitely appreciate an offbeat, American Gothic sort of style. (I mean, how could you not, choosing to get married in a natural history museum and all?) So of course we had to go all out for portraits.
Susan and Lane’s families were just so darn cute.
One of my very faves, of Susan and her dad waiting outside just before the ceremony started. Just such a joyful, peaceful moment.
My Diana camera is becoming an essential.
Susan and Lane’s friend Derek did an incredible job officiating. Especially for someone who was ordained on the world wide web. Ha! Just kidding, Derek. :)
YES PLEASE! Another fave, most definitely. Wonder how many photographers can say they featured dinosaur bones in their wedding portraits? ;)
The museum already had a fantastic photo booth. How handy!
Why do all of my favorites seem to feature Susan’s brothers? Oh, I don’t know, probably because they’re AWESOME.
Readers, meet Franklin Hardy, resident Dancing King. I wanted so badly to create captions for each of these, but thought that might be teetering on the edge of inappropriateness. :) Please note the bottom right image, of Franklin dancing with Lane’s mom. Yep, it’s going down in the wedding reception photography hall of fame, pretty sure.
Then we moved the party to a local bar, Squatters. So perfect for a couple who loves pizza and beer so much!
And finally, a little peek at the people behind the cameras: me, Sam & Mike in action!
Wanna see more? Watch the slideshow below! I added a few little touches to keep the Wes Anderson theme going. :)
