There are few things I find to be more romantic than a garden wedding in summer (perhaps because that’s what I had myself!), and Suzi and Art’s wedding didn’t disappoint. From the infectious joy and big personalities of the couple, which I encountered for the first time when we met at Rojo for lunch and then again at their engagement session, to the meticulously planned details that came together thanks to the incredible team at Bella Baxter Events, to the super fun dance party that ensued later in the evening…. perfection. Many people would shy away from an outdoor wedding in Memphis in June, but one look at the photos and it’s hard not to forget all the sweating and get swept up in the romance of it all.
While the details of this wedding were beyond gorgeous, the thing that will probably continue to stand out most for me as I look back on this day were the moments. The moment that Suzi put her dress on at her childhood home with her mom and sister and best friends surrounding her. The moment that Suzi’s dad’s best friend officiated the ceremony (wearing an incredible bolo tie, I might add), and then later strapped on a guitar and performed the song for the first dance. The moment, right after the ceremony, that Suzi and Art looked at each other in wonder and said we’re married! (Always a favorite.) The moment when the band handed over the microphone to Suzi and the bridesmaids to sing Proud Mary. So many meaningful, beautiful snapshots in time.
