Having an outdoor wedding in the South in October is definitely a huge gamble. First of all, you’ve got the wildly unpredictable weather to contend with. Then, you have the SEC football schedule to worry about. (Like, will people actually come if Alabama is playing… it’s a legit concern. Ha!) But sometimes, you take the risk and it totally pays off. You have the tents and portable heaters on standby if needed, but you hope for sunshine and a nice brisk chill in the air. You compromise and set up a TV somewhere at the reception so hardcore fans can get their fix. And if all goes according to plan, you have absolutely perfect fall weather and a big win for your team to add to the electricity and celebration already in the air.
So many stars aligned perfectly for Kate and Allen’s wedding, making it one of those “this is why I love the South” kind of days. Throw in working with amazing “friendors” (fellow-vendors-turned-friends) and it doesn’t get much better, as far as I’m concerned.
